ITFN 2601


A conceptual and hands-on study of operating systems. Major
areas discussed include; operating system design and theory,
applications and management issues, microcomputer and
multi-user systems, including networks and mini/mainframe
systems. Also covered; files, I/O, memory and process/
processor management, networking, evaluation, tuning and
application execution.
Pre-Requisites:
ITFN 1112 with a minimum US grade of C
OrITFN 1301 with a minimum US grade of C (can be taken concurrently) Or
ITFN 1302 with a minimum US grade of C (can be taken concurrently) Or
CSCI 1303 with a minimum US grade of C (can be taken concurrently) Or
ITFN 1303 with a minimum US grade of C (can be taken concurrently) Or
WBIT 1310 with a minimum US grade of C (can be taken concurrently)
