Medicinal Chemistry

CHEM 4205


A study of medicinal chemistry and the underlying principles
of organic chemistry. Topics will include drug delivery,
anesthetics, structure/function relationships, receptor
theory, neurotransmitters, sysnthesis of various
tranquilizer classes, sysnthesis of antidepressants, enzyme
inhibition, antibiotics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs (NSAIDs).
Pre-Requisites:
CHEM 2412 with a minimum US grade of D
